Haas TS provides telecommunications solutions and services for all Haas faculty and staff.

Landlines

    Types of Landlines

    • Analog

      • An analog phone line is more cost effective, but the analog phone cannot support multiple lines like the electronic/digital phone can.

    • Electronic/Digital

      • An electronic/digital line features one-button access to features such as call transferring and group intercom, and can support as many phone numbers as buttons available. It also provides superior sound quality.

    Call Forwarding


      Call Forward on Campus PBX Analog Phones


        To redirect all calls to another campus number:

        • Dial *12.
        • Dial the 5-digit campus number where you want the calls to be answered.
        • Wait for confirmation tone, then hang up.

        To cancel the Call Forwarding feature:

        • Dial #12.

      Call Forward for Avaya Digital Phones


        To forward your calls to another campus number:

        • Scroll through the screens and press the Call Forward button.
        • Dial the 5-digit campus number where you want the calls to be answered.
        • Wait for confirmation tone, then hang up.
        • The indicator next to the Call Forward button will be on.

        To cancel the Call Forwarding feature:

        • Scroll through the screens and press the Call Forward button.
        • The indicator next to the Call Forward button will turn off.

      If you would like to order any phone-related items, including phones, phone lines, phone features, and voicemail, please email helpdesk@haas.berkeley.edu with the following information. Please make sure you obtain the approval of the appropriate supervisor before sending the order email.

      5. Chartstring to charge the order to

    Moves

      If you need to have a phone line(s) moved, please email helpdesk@haas.berkeley.edu with the following information. Please make sure you obtain the approval of the appropriate supervisor before sending the order email.

    Support

      To request phone support, including to report a broken phone or to reset a voicemail password, please email helpdesk@haas.berkeley.edu with the following information.

      1. Name of employee
      2. Phone number (if any)
      3. Room number
      4. Description of problem
      5. Description of phone (i.e. Cortelco phone, Avaya 9404 phonne, etc.)

Cellular Devices

Faculty and Staff are able to order any type of cellular phones available from AT&T And Verizon through IS&T Wireless.

To submit a new or upgrade cellular phone order, please submit a request to helpdesk@haas.berkeley.edu with the following requested information.

    New Cellular Phone Order

    New Activation: Go to Step 2
    Transfer personal cellular phone number to UC Berkeley: Follow Step 1 & Step 2

      STEP 1


      Personal Cellular Phone:

        1. Carrier
        2. Cellular Number
        3. Account Holder's Name
        4. Account Number
        5. Account Billing Address

        NOTE: In order for IST Wireless to transfer your cellular phone number over to the university, you must contact your carrier to:

        • Separate your cellular phone number to an individual plan if you are on a family plan.
        • Inform your carrier that you are releasing the financial responsibility of the your account to UCB. Your carrier will note this information in your account.

      STEP 2


      BerkeleyHaas Issued Cellular Phone:

        1. Select a Carrier: AT&T or Verizon
        2. Phone Model (including Storage Size and Color preference, if available): i.e. iPhone 6S, 16GB, Silver
        3. Cellular Plan: Select a plan from this link.
        4. Add Insurance: ​Add insurance for $10 per month (yes/no)? The insurance covers lost, stolen and accidental damages. The deductible is $99 - 199, depending on the cellular phone model.
        5. Chart String: Check with your Faculty Assistant (Faculty) or Supervisor (Staff).
        6. Electronic Communication Policy Agreements:

    Upgrade Cellular Phone Order

    1. Select a Carrier: AT&T or Verizon
    2. Phone Model (including Storage Size and Color preference, if available): i.e. iPhone 6S, 16GB, Silver
    3. Cellular Plan: Select a plan from this link.

    Cellular International Activation Request

    To add international cellular service for international travel, a request must be submitted at least five business days prior to departure.

    Please include the following in your request:

      1. Cellular Number
      2. Travel Dates (Departure and Return)
      3. Travel Country
